McWillie-Singleton House
The McWillie-Singleton House

Rooms

McWillie Singleton has two two-room suites and two single room accommodations.

The Singleton Suite (East Suite)

The Singleton Suite (East Suite) has 14-foot ceilings and a King Tester Bed, so tall you will need steps to climb in. Once you make it to the top, you will find yourself on one of the most comfortable mattresses you'll ever sleep on. From the king-sized bed, you can watch cable TV hidden inside a beautiful 8-foot armoire. A selection of movies are available that were filmed in Canton, including two that show the McWillie-Singleton House and, if you look closely, one of the innkeepers. An oil portrait of Otho Robards Singleton, a former owner of the house, hangs above the working fireplace. Singleton was a Mississippi Congressman, Confederate soldier, Confederate Congressman, US Congressman and one of the first Reagents of the Smithsonian Institute. The sitting room has a day bed with a trundle and writing desk to satisfy your business or personal needs. A private bath with a beautiful claw foot tub complete the suite. $140 per night*.

The McWillie Suite (West Suite)
The McWillie Suite (not yet open for overnight guests) has 14-foot ceilings from which hang two antique cut-glass chandeliers from New Orleans. The chandeliers are either English or Irish in origin and date to the mid-1800s. Two magnificent, 10-foot pocket doors, that can be opened or closed, separate the rooms in the suite, formerly the parlor and dining room. The McWillie Suite currently serves as a New Orleans style billiard room and a business center with personal computer, broadband internet access (including wireless), printer, scanner, and copier.

Both suites open onto the foyer, convenient to the Tea Room common area.

The single rooms on the second floor are reached by climbing the original stairs that feature a hand-turned mahogany banister. Both rooms open onto the War Room common area. The War Room is a Civil War and Mississippi History library and game room. The library is housed in a circa 1860s French bookcase and on the opposite wall a Dale Gallon print commemorates the University Grays from Ole Miss in the final moments of Pickets Charge. The War Room opens onto a second floor balcony.
The Green Room (East Room)
The Green Room is located upstairs adjacent to the War Room Library common area. The room features a queen size David Lee designer bed (you'll need steps to get into this one also), beautiful view of the gazebo, and a private bath. The room has cable TV and a selection of movies that were filmed in Canton, including two that show the McWillie-Singleton House, and if you look closely, one of the innkeepers. $110.00 per night*.

The Palladian Room (West Room)

The Palladian Room is located upstairs adjacent to the War Room Library common area. The newly remodelled room features two queen size beds and private bath with a luxurious claw foot tub and antique etched glass windows. The room has cable TV and a selection of movies that were filmed in Canton, including two that show the McWillie-Singleton House. $120.00 per night*.
